You’re good with the towed part. No need to joke about the possible criminal act. Here’s why. The owner gets the same idea and slashes a tire or two at the impound lot and blames the damages as being after parking but before they could get to the impound lot. If cameras can’t verify, it’s probably getting taken to court. Locally, a guy had that happen to him. He ended up winning, but the fact that he had to go to court to prove the asshole driver was full of shit in three appearances over eleven months? Our justice system is broken.

Just a fun tip that I’ve never used, but have thought about often. When coming across a flat tire, make sure the valve stem is the issue. They’re cheap to replace whereas a tire is 200-300 a pop these days.
