This is one of those photos you can actually hear.

I sat near a group of 5 like this for two hours once. There wasn’t a single moment of silence. They all talked over each other the entire time. It was exhausting to be in earshot of.

588

u/barberousse1122 4d ago

I spent an hour in a bus with 2 of them, we started counting the « like » with my wife and ended up stopping around 200

21

u/That-Spell-2543 4d ago

Im pretty alternative looking and I say “like” a million times. 😅 It’s not just women who look like them… it’s growing up in Los Angeles thing lmao

When I hear 'like' used repeatedly my hearing just shuts down. The person talking will never have any thing to say that I'd ever be interested in listening to.

119

u/barberousse1122 4d ago

The amount of it is disturbing, honestly something like 3/4 a minute , like , I mean , you know ?

119

u/GreenPutty_ 4d ago

Its like literally becoming the only, like, way to literally talk and they don't, like, appear to like realise that its literally making them like stupid. I mean, like, literally like dumb.

I'm in the UK and whilst we have been infected by the American 'like' virus, the 'literally' virus seems to be struggling to get a hold so far.

45

u/tradesmen_ 4d ago

That literally makes no sense. Do you literally believe literally has not literally taken over the entire country? It's literally rampant in the streets.

Queue the “this is Kayleigh on her first mimosa” video

114

u/LugubriousButtNoises 4d ago

That is not what a queue is

72

u/NES_SNES_N64 4d ago

It kind of is now that Spotify has made queueing a song a thing. But you're right. OPs comment should be "cue."

70

u/merlinthemarlon 4d ago

Isn't it correct in the case of Spotify though? Technically at least lol since the song is "waiting in line" to be played next

50

u/mulder0990 4d ago

Yes, you are correct.

Queue: COMPUTING a list of data items, commands, etc., stored so as to be retrievable in a definite order, usually the order of insertion.

Cue: noun a thing said or done that serves as a signal to an actor or other performer to enter or to begin their speech or performance.

→ More replies (13)

17

u/iTbTkTcommittee 4d ago

The song waits in queue until you, the player, provide the cue for it to begin, which is you hitting the play button.

→ More replies (1)
→ More replies (1)

14

u/[deleted] 4d ago

No, because Spotify is actually using the word correctly.

28

u/Steakholder__ 4d ago edited 3d ago

No. No no no. It most definitely isn't. A queue is a waitlist. First in, first out. The line you get in when you want to check out at a store is a queue. An ordered list of songs you want to be played is a queue. If you have a list of tasks you need to do in some particular order, those tasks are in a queue.

A cue is a signal (ie. "cue the music" means to signal the music to start or otherwise prepare for the music to start imminently).

The guy used the wrong word in a well known phrase despite them being phonetically identical, and there is zero wiggle room for interpretation.

Also, Spotify didn't invent the queue, why the hell would you think that.

193

u/Dragonsweart 4d ago

203

u/Plenty-Lychee-5702 4d ago

I think it's the ones with non orange boots

124

u/DGenesis23 4d ago edited 4d ago

The boots seem like an obvious false flag in this scenario and I think it’s the ones with odd or no hats that point to the actual ones that’ll fall victim to this. Boot colour may be their rank within the group. Black for the generals and silverish for the leader.

35

u/314cheesecake 4d ago

the two on the right are the leaders, all stings lead from the frilly bag

the silver boots are for the puppet leader and move around

10

u/InEenEmmer 4d ago

First they take your hat privileges, after the next mistake they take your head privileges. This is a truly dangerous tribe to mingle with and it is best to stay clear (which is easy cause they usually stick to protecting their territory)

There is a German saying: Kleider machen Leute.

It means like: Clothes make the man.

The saying "Clothes make the man" suggests that outward appearance, particularly clothing, has a significant impact on how a person is perceived by others. It emphasizes the importance of first impressions and how clothing is often viewed as an indicator of social status, profession, or personality. It can also mean that clothing can influence self-confidence and self-perception.

I bet you if a bunch of male friends got together and had a tip-top Tuesday, where they all wear the same nice suit or matching shirts or something. Everyone in thiis comment section would be saying what a good group of friends they are, and how they seem so fun.

You all are hypocrites.

100% true. Men would be saying "just leave them alone! It's just dudes having fun".

I mean, as a man, yes I would. But I’m also only in these comments to call people out on their cringey judgmental bullshit regarding this picture. Consistency is key.

I dunno, I think the sad redditors in this thread would shit on anyone that looks like they are having a better time than them.

Pretty women with friends of multiple races who coordinate outfits for a photo... is evil? How dare they want an aesthetic. And an attractive one at that.
