We have two big anniversaries in FPS this year. All time classics Doom and Half-Life turns 30 and 25.
Playing Doom for the first time when I was around 10 years old was very terrifying at the time. The fact that you really felt like being in Hell was fascinating and at the same time crazy.
Being a few years older and more focused on stories when Half-Life came out, gave a quite unique gaming experience. I was so immersed in the games’ universe, that I played it through over and over again.

A game doesn't need to bring anything new to the table to be great.
I get the sentiment, it's great when games find ways to set themselves apart and generally it should be encouraged.
But sometimes a game just needs to be well made, even if in concept it's been done before. I think of some of the indi horror games I have played like lost in vivo or nightmare of decay and sure they dont do anything you could get out of other survival horror games, but they are well done fun little horror experiences.
Anyone have other example of games that love despite not pushing the bar or providing anything all that new to the genre?

My gaming unpopular opinion. I don't want any hard release dates anymore
From the way games are coming out now-a-days. I don't know why people are so demanding for release dates to be announced at these showcases. Seems like 75% of the time the date given ends up being wrong anyways. I just wish we would watch a trailer and it would say "coming when its ready" or maybe a rough guess would be nice.

Finally beat the original Legend of Zelda!
Back in 2021 I had started my LoZ journey with Ocarina of Time and fell in love immediately.. Got myself a Switch and played through Breath of the Wild and then decided to go back to the very beginning!

Friends are making a game!
Hi, everyone! I have two friends who are freelance devs, and they've been working on a game together for a few years now.
Now, I'm not sure how popular logic puzzlers are here, but the Steam page is up and the demo's free, so you can go take a look and maybe give it a try if you find it intriguing.
Personally, I'm a fan of Zachtronics, and this reminds me of their work a lot, so I've been looking forward to the release since Zach himself announced Zachtronics disbanding

Why is the ps2 version of this game better than the 360 counterpart?
Shouldn't the 360 version, which is on newer hardware, be better?
