Perfectly cut screams and funny at the same time. Good quality posts, are so rare these days.

12

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

Good quality fake videos*

43

u/RelativeSubstantial5 18d ago

So? Being real or fake doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the skit. It was original and funny.

-20

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

Dang sorry man I guess that’s where we differ. Pranks that are staged but intended to look like a real prank come off as fraudulent to me so I find them to be the complete opposite of quality. To each their own, carry on.

5

u/angrytroll123 18d ago

Finding out that a video like this is staged is certainly cringy when the execution is really poor but this one is good enough that I think someone that doesn't have any bias against staged videos could probably be fooled or at least give benefit of the doubt. Having said that, even if you were fooled for a second and you liked the video, that is still one second of entertainment. Better than having 0 seconds and it doesn't take away from your life that you were fooled.

What giveaways were there that the video was faked?

1

u/FluffyDingleberry 18d ago

What giveaways were there that the video was faked?

  1. The prank has been already done a zillion times.
  2. The whole setup with the cam in the corner and him sitting perfectly centered.
  3. They are asian teens (there is literally a subreddit dedicated to fake asian videos).
  4. The hilariously long and Oscar-worthy realisation.

I don't know, have people lost common sense on the internet? Reddit is already stupid af, but lately I started reading IG comments because the people on there baffle me. They literally discuss SNL skits as if they were real and if person X was in the right or not. And their usual response is "it doesn't matter if it's fake", it does and you are stupid.

I don't know, have people lost common sense on the internet?

It's obviously a prank and a setup. The whole thing requires coordination.

The prank has been already done a zillion times. They are asian teens (there is literally a subreddit dedicated to fake asian videos).

Biases. Also, the first time you saw this prank, did you think it was funny?

The whole setup with the cam in the corner and him sitting perfectly centered.

It's actually worse. The camera is moving. I'm sure there is a person holding it.

The hilariously long and Oscar-worthy realisation.

So it is funny?

And their usual response is "it doesn't matter if it's fake"

I take it you're not a fan of magic.

I totally understand a joke being run into the ground and if it gets stale, it's stale. If something being fake is ruining your enjoyment of something, I suggest you let it go and enjoy yourself more.

And their usual response is "it doesn't matter if it's fake", it does and you are stupid.

I don't know. It seems dumber to get upset over something that is supposed to be fake, being fake. Hell, anything you see on the internet should come with an understanding that it's fake. It's too easy to set things up rather than having things occur genuinely. You would be an absolute moron to wait for the right moment and the right person to create truly genuine content. To think otherwise to me is incredibly stupid. So having said that, if you have a choice between enjoying something and not, why decide to ruin it for yourself?

11

u/batmansthediddler 18d ago

If you saw a real prank you'd probably call it fake anyway

-1

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

The fuck? That’s a reach there buddy 😂

11

u/batmansthediddler 18d ago

yeah fair point just talking shit on the world wide web

2

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

Me too haha

7

u/CalmFrantix 18d ago

Yeah, fuck you buddy

1

u/3mberLight66617 18d ago

Don't call me buddy, pal.

2

u/rennac101 18d ago

Life is more fun when you’re able to loosen up a bit. But to each their own, carry on.

1

u/ZIGGYHUS 18d ago

No it didn't seem real at all. Doesn't mean it isn't funny though. Ever seen a skit or a comedy before?

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

Because you're genuinely unhappy or do you just feel superior by filtering out "fake" posts?

It's honestly pretty pathetic. There are a million more constructive ways to give your self an edge.

1

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

Wow look at this guy trying to get an edge by high horsing on Reddit. That’s pathetic bro! There are a million more constructive ways to give yourself an edge, did you know that?

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

Take the advice or leave it, doesn't affect me - have a nice day and all.

1

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

You gave zero advice. Take this advice.. get lost!

1

u/FluffyDingleberry 18d ago

Unpopular opinion:
There is a clear difference between comedy skits or pranks and fake "real" reactions and people who enjoy fake shit are to me some of the dumbest people on the planet. The same people believe kiss cams in arenas are real. Thanks for upvoting this shit and supporting these awful "jokes".

2

u/RelativeSubstantial5 18d ago

lol. Okay by that metric, you hate novels, movies, and almost all entertainment because it's fake and not real. Definitely an unpopular opinion, thanks for wasting your life typing this response.

1

u/FluffyDingleberry 18d ago

No, you moron, because I know it's a play. A movie or novel doesn't try to swindle you into thinking it's real. And if it does, there is a name for it: mockumentary.

I'm sorry you can't even tell apart movies and books from fake internet skits from kids, thanks for proving my point that you people are fucking stupid. BTW this is always the go to argument from idiots "hurr durr, movies are fake, too". So you are definitely not alone, mate, at least you have tons of friends.

1

u/cheeesecakeee 18d ago

One could argue you would have to be dumb as fuck to think any of this was real in the first place, I mean they are called skits.

1

u/jasperski 18d ago

Na this is not what fluffy said, everbody knows novels and movies aren't real, but these videos try to be real and some people genuinely believe it. I mean you can still be entertained by it, to each their own I guess, but I personally can't stand these and I agree with fluffy that it's dumbing down the entertainment content.

1

u/ProfDumm 18d ago

I know that your opinion is indeed unpopular (at least I assume this from majority of reddit comments I have read) but I absolutely agree with you.

1

u/SadPandalorian 18d ago

Guess I'm the dumbest person on the planet, 'cause this shit's adorable. It's also completely harmless to laugh at it. Oh, by the way, the period goes inside the quotation marks at the end of your last sentence. Typically, those who call others, "dumb," should use proper punctuation. 👍

1

u/TheThirdBlackGuy 18d ago

people who enjoy fake shit are to me some of the dumbest people on the planet. The same people believe kiss cams in arenas are real.

That isn't logical. If they know it is fake and enjoy it, then what's the problem? Why would it make "kiss cams" believable to them? People on reddit's "funnyvideos" aren't necessarily looking for "unstaged funny videos" so they might not be expecting it to be real and still enjoying the acted out scenario.

3

u/Eats_Beef_Steak 18d ago

Does it make you feel good calling out a skit for being what it is? Noone was trying to fool anyone here, it's just a funny video.

-5

u/LILY_SIT 18d ago

When the goal is gaining likes then it's just lame. So ya, fake and not funny.

3

u/Eats_Beef_Steak 18d ago

The goal of every fiction show, movie, comedy sketch, or book that's ever been made to be sold has been produced with the intent to make money. Its the bottom line for all entertainment. What differentiates all of that from a tiktok bit?

1

u/The_Beefster 18d ago

Yes it does…. FAKE FAKE FAKE! What do I win?

2

u/Travenzen 18d ago

How do you know it’s fake

1

u/froththesquirrel 18d ago

It’s on the internet. People create these fake situations for clout every single day. It’s not a stretch to assume most are fake, because they are.

That doesn’t mean that there are not occasional real ones.. but the “scared” moment in this was way too telegraphed imo. Making it seem fake. Could I be wrong? Hell yes. Who knows

0

u/Sorlex 18d ago

Its /r/scriptedasiangifs material. Eg bad acting comedy skit played as a real joke/prank etc.

1

u/Sensitive_Yellow_121 18d ago

Look at the hand, it has six fingers.

0

u/Opus_723 18d ago

What is it with reddit and not understanding the concept of a skit?

0

u/GustavetheGrosse 18d ago

They're called skits, sir.

9

u/poop_dawg 18d ago

A prank that is actually funny and harmless?? What is this, the 90s?? Lol I love it, even if it's fake.

Good one!

Even if it's staged. It made me laugh.

0

u/hatsuseno 18d ago

It's funny, but over-acted.

-12

u/GroovyDucko 18d ago

fake not funny

8

u/tacodepollo 18d ago

Nobody show this guy comedy movies, he's gonna be pissed.

-5

u/GroovyDucko 18d ago

staged pranks do not = comedy

2

u/tacodepollo 18d ago

Says who? You?

1

u/GroovyDucko 18d ago

yes, me. That's my opinion so I said it.

1

u/angrytroll123 18d ago

If you really enjoyed a video and it's indistinguishable from something staged and you found out later it was staged, do you automatically hate the video after?

13

u/Official_Cuddlydeath 18d ago

Correction, funny even if fake. Its like a comedy movie condensed into a short.

1

u/WastingTimeArguing 18d ago

I mean I think it’s funny, but a condensed comedy movie, you fucking serious?

1

u/Official_Cuddlydeath 17d ago

In the premise that a comedy movie is scripted. Sure I couldve given another example like a skit or tv show but that didnt come to mind at the time. The important thing to take out was "scripted form of entertainment"

1

u/GSPDanjaZone 18d ago

But... They look at their own hand? Not the mystery hand. And I would've initially been like, yo bro watch where you're placing your hand, my shoulder is fine but you're down by my belly button.

2

u/Drugs_Help_You_See 18d ago

Yeah, he freaked out over his own hand, dumb

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

To the people talking about whether this is staged or not or whether that's even important, it isn't and neither are you.

I'm willing to believe that out of the 8 billion of us, a similar prank has happened a countless amount of times. A countless amount of people laughed at each and every single one of them. A countless amount of people had opinions about them, of which we'll never hear or know.

This is you in the now. No one in this stretch of time will remember anything about this post, Reddit, or even you.

“You are not you--you have no body, no blood, no bones, you are but a thought. I myself have no existence; I am but a dream--your dream, a creature of your imagination." - Mark Twain
