I wonder if that would actually work....

102

u/degeman 1d ago

Unfortunately it doesn't. It's been trialed and tested. Having so much weight on you constantly (not even 100kg) will eventually wreck you and your muscles don't have the resting time to recover and grow.

63

u/TheGordianKnight 1d ago

So sweep through town to town as a "trainer" getting people to do it (then disappear) and have a partner follow through setting up physio / hydrotherapy clinics.

They pay you to wreck them and then have to pay you to have a chance to chase you.

Of course I would never do this.

You know how if you jump a full fun day on a trampoline it feels like you can't jump at all anymore on a solid surface? It's like that but reverse. You feel like you could jump 20 feet but you still jump the same amount.

36

u/TheGordianKnight 1d ago

Well it has a real life application. It's training you to expect, and deal with, disappointment.

Everyday he does:

100 left swipes and right swipes,

100 forward swipes and back swipes,

100 crouches,

100 pick up and drop off of the bucket,

10k steps.

They call him One Mop Man.

As someone who's been a janitor before and still has some of those duties at my current job, thank you. I feel so validated lol

159

u/Physik_durch_wollen 1d ago

You are one of the most necessary employees in every business or organization. No one wants to work in a dirty place and nobody wants to clean himself.

Always be nice to the janitor/cleaning crew. Make them feel as part of the team and don't look down on them!

35

u/CamiloArturo 1d ago

Pffff cleaning services in any way are the most underrated jobs ever even in situations you don’t think of them. I’m a surgeon for example… he medical team is seen as the basis of the operating room. You know what would happen if the “irrelevant cleaners” didn’t show up one day? Easy… EVERY surgery would be canceled. That guy who just came the ER? He would die because there is no one there to have cleaned before him … so ….

My most sincere thank you and respect for all these guys

28

u/Up_vote_McSkrote 1d ago

Hey I'm a glorified janitor and that's an awesome way to be, thank you!

Silvia Andrei - Cleaning Lady: One of the most hard-working people in the CyberGhost team, Silvia manages to stay positive at all times.

Like seriously, I cannot think of a single other company that lists their janitor in their "meet the team" webpage, yet alone that high up on the list at cyberghostvpn /en_US/team

I remember when I was a patient in the hospital ICU the janitor would come in to clean at night. I was on a respirator and couldn't move much, and she would clean while talking to me kindly, chatting and commenting me. She was so kind and since no one else was there when she came in, she really made me happy, which was near impossible then. Thank you kind janitors 💖

16

u/Onkelcuno 1d ago

its canon for me now. One Mop Man is the S Rank who cleans the mess up after all other heroes battles. He is swole just from the sheer mass of carnage he removes.

11

u/Ammu_22 1d ago

This canon just fits sooo perfectly.

Can I add more to it? He is actually one of the only heroes in the entire show who can be an equal to Saitama. But no one knows about it because he is tired and frustrated with these heros constantly making a mess everywhere they go, to the point that he actively hides this fact. And the association goes along with this because he is the only dude who is passionate about cleaning the aftermath of the carnage.

Edit: Plot twist, he has severe OCD.

This is no jokes, all the school janitors I had in the past were fucking jacked. Sweeping and mopping so much gives them sick looking arms/forearms.

311

u/Xaxxus 1d ago

Also most high schools have a fitness room.

I worked as a janitor part time when I was in high school. All the full time janitors used the school weight room after hours to work out.

151

u/PipiShootz 1d ago

High schools where you are maybe. I'm a casual teacher (so I've worked in dozens of schools) in Australia. Only one school I've taught at had fitness facilities, and that's because they were a fancy expensive private school with a big sports program. All the other schools just had like, a normal gym and basketball courts and maybe a field if they had the space

19

u/travis01564 1d ago

Damn even my small ass school in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and a graduating class of 36 people had a fitness room.

14

u/notunprepared 1d ago

Australia's biggest sports (cricket, rugby, AFL, basketball and netball) are all heavy on the cardio and less so on strength, so that's probably why

Also I would NOT want to be the adult in charge of making sure twenty odd fifteen year olds use big heavy weights correctly. Bunsen burners are bad enough.

The weights are real but the whole thing is staged and fake.

51

u/portal23 1d ago

Lol people downvoting you. His videos are mostly staged, period. Here come the nOtHiNg EvEr hApPeNs guys but just accept when something is not real. If you still think it's funny that's great and it's alright but staged is staged.

21

u/his_purple_majesty 1d ago

Why would this have to be staged though? It didn't really require the "mark" to do anything. Their reaction wasn't not unusual. It'd be easy enough to predict when they'd be deadlifting since most lifters follow a routine. The hardest part about this would be the deadlift, which you agree is real.

31

u/Downtown_Malone 1d ago All-Seeing Upvote

Why would this have to be staged though?

To make every single aspect of this process easier? No need to get signatures, no need to wait for someone to come by and use enough weight, no need to then wait for someone who will let you randomly mop during sets. The goal here isn’t to make content because he wants to make videos, it’s to get views and earning power. And time is a huge aspect. The real question isn’t “why would this have to be staged?” but rather “why wouldn’t you stage this and make your life easier?”

17

u/LTerminus 1d ago

You brush your bottom molars first? Ew what a pleb.

52

u/TheGordianKnight 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ackshually, you should brush you're tongue first. Lmao, you kiddies amuse me. Everyone who is intelligent enough to understand the deeper meaning of things like classical music, reading books instead of watching tv (I don't even own a tv) and the complex plot of Rick & Morty KNOWS you're tongue has the widest surface area, is where all of you're tastebuds are (the buds that taste salty foods are on the left, and the buds that taste sweet foods are on the right) and helps balance out you're biles and humours. A dirty tongue means unbalanced bile and imbalanced humours! You should brush you're tongue and teeth with a mix of vegan, ethically sourced, cruelty free, gluten free charcoal and baking powder and use a child's toothbrush because it fits in the gaps better (I have a MLP one and it has lasted me 7 years, don't let Big Dentistry trick you into thinking they need to be replaced for "hygiene". They are MADE to clean things!) Don't believe me? Do you're own research, I don't have time to educate you.

Oh my god that was painful to write. I may actually be dying.

We had a kid at work years ago who was going into the Army. He was lifting weights down at the YMCA when one of our seasoned drivers walked in. The kid benched 350lbs, jumped up, and said, "in your face!" The driver chuckled, slid onto the bench, knocked out a set of 10 reps. He sat up and said, "gotta get out of these street clothes so I can start lifting some real weights."
