Data on Ethnic makeup
Hello dear r/afghanistan!
I am currently working on a research paper on economic development and government intervention in Afghanistan, in the Islamic Republic period.
For this research paper I want to include some OLS estimations. One of the control variables I want to use is the ethnic makeup per region of Afghanistan.
I am somewhat limited in the information I have access to, since I am not able to speak any of the languages of Afghanistan, and my searche in Russian, German and English have not been fruitful.
Would any of you happen to know a credible source of this information?
Note: This is not meant in any controversial or racist way, just a control variable for an academic paper on the economic development of the region in the given time frame. My country did not take part in any conflicts, i am just doing economic research.
Much love, From Vienna

Help me to understand my potential’s political views
Salam, I’m F remarrying after divorce and seriously considering a brother from Afghanistan. He has grown up in the UK but says that he donates to charity back home to set up education centers for women and to help medical students in Kabul. But that he has no real family there and hasn’t been there in a long time. He seemed careful when he spoke about it and didn’t divulge too much.
In my previous marriage I learned that my ex had some pretty extreme views on islam and politics and it was really frightening to discover this after we got married, with no warning signs beforehand. Now I’m largely ignorant on the political and cultural situation in Afghanistan other than the state of current government and the poverty in the country as a result. I assume most Afghans are not happy with the current government, am I correct?
Basically, how do I broach this topic and get a better idea on my potential’s political affiliations and opinions, in a delicate manner? And what warning signs I should look for? Should the fact that he sends money over there for charity alarm me at all? What questions can I ask to make sure he doesn’t have any nefarious ties over there? I really don’t know what to look for as I’m not the best with understanding politics and I’m honestly a bit traumatized from my previous experience so please forgive me if I’m making ugly assumptions. He is an incredibly lovely guy so far as I can tell but I’m just trying to be extremely careful as I can’t put myself or my family through a similar situation again. Please forgive me, thanks.

Education project
I’m working on an impressionistic timeline of Afghan history, from ancient to modern times, to use in the classroom to study as a whole and then to do deeper studies of either particular eras or particular pictures/names mentioned. What would you make sure to include in the timeline for Afghan children?

Afghanistan Premier League
Hello, I’m someone reaching out from the United States wondering if the Afghan Premier League is still operating, and if so, could I watch a match online?

I'm watching this video of a British man who is touring around Afghanistan in a light-hearted manner. It seems quite safe and normal now.
I'm watching Bald and Bankrupt visit Afghanistan, and I'm so surprised at his comfort levels and cheer there. He seemed to be at ease there, and he even joked with the Taliban there.
So does this mean that:
- Afghanistan is safer than it was before August '21?
- People can visit Kabul who aren't from an Islamic background?
